ABOUT US: New Beulah Moravian Church is one of the churches under the Moravian Province of the Moravian Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
The tradition of the Moravians in Jamaica is to locate their churches in rural communities, and as such; when persons move from these communities into urban centre’s they experience difficulties in finding a Moravian Church to worship. Against this background in December 1954 the BI-Centenary Synod of the Moravian Church in Jamaica proposed that efforts be made to establish a Moravian Church in Mandeville.
Interestingly, on October 14 1959 the birth place of the church, the home of Sis. Gladys Bayley at 32 Ward Avenue Mandeville was dedicated by then Bishop John Kneale.
On the first Sunday of October 1962 the ‘First Divine Service’ was held by the late Rev. Horace T Cuthbert in the living room of Sis. Bayley’s’ home.(Read more in our ‘History Section).Today we have grown from a ‘Mustard Seed to a ‘Fruitful Tree’, not only in membership and building expansion, but also by our contribution to the Province.
Present ministers Rev .Robert Patmore and Rev. Clarister Johnson along with the Elders, Stewards Boards and members welcome you to our church.
OUR MOTTO: In essentials unity; in non-essentials, liberty; an in all things charity(love).
